From the chemical point of view, hyaluronic acid is a linear polysaccharide with sugar derivatives. They act like a “water magnet” enabling hyaluronic acid to bind up to six liters of water per gram. Due to its high-molecular structure, it lies like a film on skin’s surface and supports the NMF (Natural Moisture Factor) in its function to protect skin against moisture loss and to keep it supple.

DMC (Derma Membran Complex) is particularly used in formulations for problematic skin conditions. Its structure and composition with skin-similar substances mimics human skin.

Since DMC not only mimics the physical skin barrier layer, but also the membrane elements of human skin, it can be designated as „skin-related“. It has a barrier-stabilizing effect, guarantees an excellent skin tolerance and works as an efficient “ingredient shuttle”.

Urea belongs to skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF) and is manufactured biotechnologically for the cosmetics industry. Its special effect is due to its high water-binding ability. Moreover, urea alleviates light itching.

Ceramides, together with other skin elements, are found among others in the horny layer (Stratum Corneum) where they form a natural barrier, which protects skin against dehydration, and prevent the penetration of foreign matters. When the barrier function is disturbed, skin becomes dry or irritations like red and itching patches develop, including even neurodermatitis or psoriasis. The skin-identical ceramides lie like the mortar of a brick wall between the cells of the Stratum Corneum. They are able to improve the protective functions of skin and to protect it from moisture loss. Additionally, they condition rough hands leaving them looking soft and supple.

Nourishing and lipid-replenishing shea butter particularly regenerates dry skin. Its moisture level is rebalanced.

Avocadol VLO makes dry skin supple and stabilizes its moisture balance.

Akogel is a mix of derivatives from plant oils, gained from the seeds of soybean, coconut, oil palm and rape. It has intense nourishing properties leaving skin looking soft and supple.

Licorice root extract is very skin-friendly, diminishes light irritations and redness and helps to prevent inflammatory processes of skin.

Cucumber extract is particularly effective on skin with large pores. It has a light firming effect and refreshes skin.
